Welcome to my rolling 96-hour dry fast – cycle 1 and 2 completed. I started sharing my journey on Reddit and then again in my other website where I have the Fasting Planners listed. Going forward, I will be sharing all updates here! I began starting over this year (2025) by cleaning up my diet by removing processed food, junk and most carbs.
Tools I use for all my fasts including Cycle 1:

Blog Series Updates: Writing my weekly updates in this series encourages me to do better, and learn from mistakes – while hopefully, inspiring someone else.

Starting: Cycle 0
I began by eliminating my trigger foods and favourite bad habits such as chocolate, table sugar, bread, fries and more. I them completed almost a full week of clean, mindful eating.
Post-Elimination Week Weigh-in: 286.6lbs
Cycle 1: Completed 108 hours
Day 1 (Dry Fast): I started this cycle on February 10th, 2025 at 286.6lbs – my energy was level throughout the day. I took a nap or three during the day and felt revitalized after each one. My scalp was itchy and so tender especially in the crown area – and I wasn’t sure why this was or if it was related to the fast
Day 2 (Dry Fast): February 11th, 2025 and my weight was at 281.0lbs – my energy levels were ok, I was even able to do laundry and some chores around the house. Experienced some stomach cramps and aches randomly and my emotions were all over the place.
Day 3 (Dry Fast): February 12th, 2025 and my weight was at 277.2lbs – my energy levels were ok through the rest of the day. No naps today but I felt good physically – my emotions were still a mess. My body felt sore all over, muscles and joints alike – for no clear reason. The scalp was less tender and not itchy anymore.
Day 4 (Dry Fast): February 13th, 2025 and my weight was at 274.4lbs – energy was good but I was soooo very thirsty. Hunger wasn’t even on the radar, food was not even something I cared about – but I could have burned sold an eye for a cup of water
Day 5 – Feast Day: February 14th, 2025 – weighed in at 274.4lbs before rehydrating / breaking the fast. I continued to fast while drinking only water to rehydrate until I completed 108 hours; and then I broke my fast.
Stats Check: Cycle 1 – 14/02/2025
Weight: 274.4lbs
Body Fat: 44.2%
Body Muscle: 28.4%
Body Water: 41.0%
Waist: 45.0”
Hips: 55.0”
Cycle 1 Review: I had meat, fruit and yoghurt and because this was the first fast in the cycle, I expected to lose a lot of liquid weight and I did. Things will probably slow down quite a bit in the next ones and I might even plateau but that’s nothing to worry about. My goal this time is to shift my focus from the scale to the health benefits and reasons for doing this transformation challenge in the first place. I regained only 2.8lbs after breaking the Cycle 1 fast and this almost never happens – I usually gain back 6 – 8 lbs after breaking a rolling fast.

Cycle 2: Completed 63 hours
Day 1 (Water Fast): I started this cycle immediately after the Cycle 1 feast day and fasted with spring water throughout the day. I had one cup of black (unsweetened) coffee. The fast was easy – almost like I wasn’t fasting. I weighed in at 277.2lbs
Day 2 (Water Fast): February 16th, 2025 – I weighed in at 274.6lbs. I felt well-rested and emotionally good. My body soreness had disappeared by this point but I’m not sure when it actually happened.
Day 3 – Feast Day – February 17th, 2025 – weighed in at 274.6lbs again; like I said, almost as though I wasn’t fasting. I know water fasting works for some but I don’t think it’s the most efficient form of fasting for anyone.

Cycle 2 Review: It’s clear that while water fasting is easy on the system and makes the whole fasting experience less daunting, it is completely useless for me and I should try my best not to deviate from my rolling dry fasts. I don’t think the duration of the dry fast matters, the benefits are always going to be better than water fasting. I regained 4.6lbs after the cycle 2 – ended Cycle 2 at 279.2lbs.
See you at the next check-in.
